The chair can be equipped with a Varilite seating system, offering a variety of back and pillow types in different sizes. Alternatively, other seating and backrest systems can also be installed. The adjustable seat plate and back support bracket width (27 cm to 55 cm) provide flexibility, making it possible to repurpose the chair for different users. Featuring a small drive wheel mounted on gas shocks with an adjustable coil spring, the TA iQ Paediatric Power Chair delivers excellent soft suspension, ensuring a smooth and quiet ride over bumps. The highly flexible suspension, combined with pneumatic wheels, enhances ride comfort and improves climbing capability over obstacles, minimising jolts. With a minimum seat plate height of 38 cm/15", the chair fits easily under most tables and school desks. A 30 cm seat lift, ranging from 38 cm to 68 cm, allows for improved communication and easier access to items on shelves or in cupboards. The seat is Hi-Lo Electric, providing a lift height of 30 cm through a discreet column mechanism.
The chair can be programmatically tailored to meet specific user needs, as is the case with all models in the TA iQ product line. It is available with a color display control box featuring simple icons for easy menu navigation, or a control box without a display, using symbols to represent all chair functions. TA powerchairs undergo independent crash testing according to International Safety Standards ISO 7176-19 and 10542-5, including all power functions. Testing is conducted with the occupant seated in the powerchair, eliminating the need to transfer to a vehicle seat for safety purposes.
